SUSTAINABLE FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

100% Recyclability. No Compromise.

Most flexible packaging ends up in landfill, not because of consumer behaviour, but because it’s built from incompatible materials that can’t be separated. Traditional pouches fuse PET, aluminium, adhesive, and PE into a multi-layer structure that no recycling facility can process.

Aropack’s recyclable packaging range replaces these mixed-material constructions with single-polymer structures. Our mono-PE and mono-PP films and pouches carry the OPRL “Recycle with Bags at Large Supermarkets” label because they are genuinely compatible with the UK’s plastic film collection infrastructure, not just marketed as recyclable.

PRODUCT RANGE

Three Recyclable Packaging Categories

Every format in our recyclable range is designed to perform at the same level as conventional packaging

Recyclable Pouches

Our recyclable pouch range covers all major pre-made formats in mono-PE and mono-PP structures. Available with high-barrier EVOH for demanding applications and with all standard custom features: zippers, valves, windows, laser scoring.

Recyclable mono-material packaging bag

Recyclable Stand-Up Pouch

All the shelf presence and fill performance of a conventional stand-up pouch, in a mono-material PE structure that collects at large supermarkets across the UK. Available in Doy, K-seal, and V-seal.

Aropack-Recyclable-Flat-Bottom-Pouch

Recyclable Flat Bottom Pouch

The premium block-bottom format in a mono-material structure. Wide base for maximum retail presence, ideal for coffee, tea, and specialty food brands targeting sustainable credentials.

Aropack-Recyclable-Quad-Seal-Pouch

Recyclable Quad Seal Bag

Four-panel construction in recyclable mono-material film. Structural performance for heavier fill weights, pet food, lawn & garden, dry goods, without the recycling barrier of a conventional mixed laminate.

Aropack-Recyclable-Side-Gusset-Pouch

Recyclable Side Gusset Pouch

Expandable gusset structure in recyclable mono-PE, compatible with side-seal filling machinery. Ideal for coffee, nuts, and pet treats where fill volume varies between SKUs.

Aropack-Recyclable-Flat-Sachet-Pouch

Recyclable 3-Side Seal Pouch

Flat sachet format in recyclable mono-material film. Perfect for single-serve portions, sample packs, and sachets where minimal material use and recyclability are both priorities.

Aropack-Recyclable-Spout-Pouch

Recyclable Spout Pouch

Recyclable body with mono-material structure for liquid and viscous products. A lighter-weight, lower-carbon alternative to rigid bottles, with the consumer convenience of a resealable spout.

Recyclable Films

Our recyclable laminate films supply roll stock for flow wrap, lidding, and tray-seal applications in mono-material structures compatible with UK film recycling schemes.

MATERIAL SCIENCE

Why Mono-Material Changes Everything

Traditional flexible packaging laminates multiple incompatible materials together. That’s why it can’t be recycled. Mono-material constructions solve this by using a single polymer family throughout the entire structure.

CONVENTIONAL MULTI-LAYER LAMINATE

PET (Polyester)
Print layer, heat resistance
Adhesive
Bonding layer
Aluminium / MET-PET

PE (Polyethylene)

BOPE Print Layer
Biaxially Oriented PE, heat resistance + stiffness
Barrier Coating

PE Sealant Layer

The same performance. None of the recycling problem.

Our BOPE-based mono-PE technology uses biaxially oriented polyethylene to deliver the stiffness and heat resistance normally provided by PET, but without introducing an incompatible polymer. The entire structure remains within the PE/LDPE family, meaning it’s recyclable in the same stream as carrier bags and bread bags at UK supermarkets.

We can achieve high oxygen and moisture barrier in mono-material structures using thin barrier coatings that don’t compromise recyclability — so your product gets the shelf life it needs and your brand gets the sustainability claim it deserves.

pEPR 2026: Your Packaging Fees Depend on Recyclability

Under the UK’s Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) scheme, packaging is now rated Red, Amber, or Green based on recyclability. Non-recyclable multi-material laminates face the highest modulated fees. Our mono-material recyclable structures qualify for the lowest-cost green rating, reducing your ongoing compliance costs alongside your carbon footprint.
